Context: The Senegalese Immigrant Community in France (1980-2017)
Student Task: Design a short information booklet about Senegalese immigrants in France. The chronological reference of this project starts from the 1980s onward and should include current issues. You may include any relevant aspects in your booklet. Here are some elements you can address:
- A short historical overview on Senegalese immigrants in France
- List 2 to 3 of the most prevalent cultural/political challenges they are facing while living in France
- Include 1 to 2 women-related or gender-related issues affecting immigrant women from Senegal and who are living in France.
- Include 2 to 3 women-related or gender-related issues that are affecting wives (who are living in Senegal) and whose spouses are in France
- Talk about at least 1 example of a demand for assistance that the community is requesting from the Senegalese government and that has not been solved yet.
