I am the Lois M. Lackner Professor of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I am currently the editor-in-chief of the Illinois Journal of Mathematics.

In the academic year 2025-26 I will be on sabbatical leave.

My research interests include Poisson and symplectic geometry, Lie theory and integrable systems. An introduction to modern day Poisson geometry can be found in the book:
