This assignment is a critical response to Howard White’s article, “The Power of Hello.” I did not do too bad on this assignment. I got an 8.86 out of 10, but I feel Professor Mary may have been a little generous because it was my first writing assignment in college. I was very unfamiliar with proper MLA format at this time, so I had to go back and make sure everything was in MLA format. I also took out the word “utilizing” because not many people use it when speaking or writing. I also used “basically” in a sentence and I learned that it has no function. I took “basically” out of the paper. Howard White told a very powerful story and it taught me about showing respect for everybody. This piece also kicked off my college writing career and gave me an idea of what types of assignments I will be seeing in the future.
