2016 ACES Research Academy

Dear ACES Research Academy Participant,

The ACES Research Academy is meant to help young faculty like yourself develop their grantsmanship and professional skills. The Academy offers grant-writing workshops, information on how to manage time effectively, assistance from senior faculty on developing a tenure plan and preparing tenure documentation, and tools for monitoring, identifying, writing, and securing research funds. One of the highlights of the program is a trip to Washington, D.C., which helps you develop relationships with agencies that may be able to provide you with funding, and strategies for presenting their work to these agencies.

We hope you will find the Research Academy to be a valuable part of your training, and productive for finding resources to support your research program!

Regards,

Dr. Elvira de Mejia, Interim Assistant Dean of Research, Food Science and Human Nutrition Professor, Director of ACES Research Academy
