Since its inauguration, the Research Academy has helped more than 180 early-career faculty navigate the road to tenure and enhance their abilities as principal investigators. Nominated by their respective Department Heads, assistant professors from the Colleges of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES), Applied Health Sciences (AHS), Veterinary Medicine, and the School of Social Work (SSW) commit to participation in the semester-long program.
The Research Academy offers participants grantsmanship workshops, publication pipeline development strategy, time-management techniques, tenure-focused development plan advice from senior faculty, and tools to monitor, identify, and secure research funds.
The program concludes with virtual meetings with funding agency
program officers during which time participants develop relationships
with funding agencies and strategies for presenting their grant
applications to these agencies.
