COVID-19 Update: In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it has become necessary to suspend the 2020 Paul Rolland String Pedagogy Workshop.  We acknowledge that this is disappointing news, and we express our deep appreciation to those who have been working tirelessly towards producing what was promising to be one of the best Rolland Workshops to date. 

It is notable that this particular year marks the 50th anniversary of the completion of Paul Rolland’s highly influential String Research Project.  During this anniversary year, it is disappointing that we will be unable to gather in-person to celebrate Paul Rolland’s profound contributions to string pedagogy.  However, we take inspiration from Rolland himself, who made use of the cutting-edge technology of his day to ensure that his work from the String Research Project could be shared widely.  To that end, we are pleased to offer the following offerings online:

This Seminar is designed for people interested in Paul Rolland Pedagogy, including those who have not yet started the Certification process, those who want a refresher, and those who have questions for the Rolland faculty. Gerald Fischbach, Lynne Denig, Joanne Erwin, Stephen Fairbanks, and Joanne May will present the Seminar on a Zoom platform. The 90-minute Seminar will be held June 27, 2020 at 10:00 AM (U.S. Central Time). The Seminar includes an Overview of the Pedagogy and a Question & Answer session. FREE for attendees. Registration required in order to attend.

Certification Endorsement Levels 2 & 3 of Paul Rolland Pedagogy will be offered online. Details HERE

2020 Registration Options

  • Regular Registration: $575 ($600 after June 1)
  • Student Registration: $375 ($400 after June 1)
  • Rolland Day Pass: $125/day
    *Participants who take advantage of the student rate should be registered as a full-time student at an accredited institution during the spring term prior to the workshop. Proof of full-time student status may be requested prior to the workshop and a valid student ID or other documentation must be presented upon check-in.

2020 Meal Plans

  • Breakfast-Lunch Only: $83
  • All Meals: $146 – Includes all meals from Sunday Dinner through Saturday Breakfast, excluding Friday dinner. (A special dinner party is planned for Friday evening.)
