Critical Response 1 Reflection

Critical Response 1 reflection

I will be reflecting on the writing and revising process of my first critical response. My first critical response involved me discussing three very interesting articles. Each article was about something completely different but one of the most important attributes of writing is cohesiveness, for I wanted to find some way to connect each article to one another.

I essentially connected an article about the power of hello, optimism, and the student code of conduct through my spirituality and the power of choice. I even impressed myself that I was even able to connect the vastly different topic.

During the revising portion of my critical response I noticed typos, an issue with my title being too broad and general, and a horrible conclusion. Looking back at this conclusion I am not even sure how I thought a conclusion like that would be acceptable. To substantially revise my critical response I worked on giving a specific example of a verse in the bible that reminded me of Carolyn Hax’s article. I also beefed up my conclusion. To make my conclusion a bit more meaty, I reflected on the topic of my essay and how I felt after reading these articles. I discussed real life topics in connection to these general random articles. At first my conclusion was like a summary, but after a solid revision my conclusion is more like a conclusion.
