Younghwan Shin, Editor-in-Chief

Younghwan Shin earned his undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley and his graduate degree at Brown University. Before coming to law school, he worked as a business strategist in a consulting firm and a corporate strategist in a Korean conglomerate, involved in various corporate transactions and strategy planning. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports and catching up on long-postponed movies and TV shows

Jarrett Krouss, Managing Editor

Jarrett is a second-year law student at the University of Illinois. He graduated from St. Olaf College with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and political science. Last summer, he worked as a judicial extern for a judge in the Central District of Illinois. A member of the College of Law Class of 2027, he is interested in labor and employment law. In his free time, he enjoys watching old movies, hiking, and biking.

Deanna Nila, Notes Editor

Deanna earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor in 2023 and enrolled at the University of Illinois College of Law that same fall. She will earn her Juris Doctor from the College of Law in 2026. Last summer, she worked as a Summer Associate at Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen, P.C., where she gained valuable experience and refined her legal research and writing skills. In her free time, Deanna enjoys cooking, reading, and going on walks.

Jason Wang, Notes Editor

Jason is currently a 2L at University of Illinois College of law. A chemical engineer by training, he worked in automation at a large pharmaceutical company, worked as a freelance tennis and table tennis coach, and has experience handling mice in neurology and parasitology research. His hobbies include playing various ethnic flutes and hunting for pre-Carboniferous fossils.
