Collecting COVID-19 Stories in Illinois
En Español – “Recopilando Historias de COVID-19 en Illinois“
COVID-19 has affected the lives of people around the world, and in this historic moment the Illinois History and Lincoln Collections (IHLC) is documenting the experiences of Illinoisans. Our goal is to capture the experiences of Illinoisans during this unprecedented period, and we invite you to share your stories, photos, videos, and other digital documentation about the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
How to Participate
The IHLC is collecting digital materials that reflect Illinoisans’ experiences during this pandemic. These contributions can be creative and take many forms, such as emails, typed or handwritten journal or diary entries, photographs, screenshots of social media posts, video and audio recordings, digital art, or other documents that reflect this time and the impact of COVID-19.
Once you have materials you would like to submit, please complete this submission form. There you will upload your materials and complete a donation form.
If you have more than one file to submit we recommend you zip your files, or you may submit this form more than once. If your files are larger than 10 MB please still complete this form and contact the IHLC (email@example.com) so we can make arrangements for a file transfer.
If two or more people contribute to any donated materials, or if you interview other people in the course of your documentation, we will need their permission as well. Only one person needs to submit the file and complete the submission form, but everyone who appears in the documentation or contributed to its creation needs to give their permission. Please have all appropriate individuals complete the co-creator form to give their permission.
Submissions will not be available to the public immediately but will be made available after materials are reviewed and processed.
The IHLC is not able to accept physical donations at this time, but if you would like to share physical materials for this project at a later date, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
