Ideas from participants

  • Looking to IGET as a sounding board and “safe harbor”
  • What are the different innovative things that are happening in the colleges?
    • a show and tell
  • Missing… dissemination of knowledge… about technologies
  • Field trips (as a way of learning… activities sponsored by IGET)
  • Include faculty & students
  • No idea too small

Discussed pros & cons of Box

  • Service at http://uofi.box.com
  • Would be nice to have the ability to provide access based on class rosters
  • Use it as a way to back-up files
  • FERPA compliant
  • Good size quota; can request an increase
  • Box “enterprise folder” request from Tech Services
    • Easy to request/set up via consult@illinois.edu
    • Not tied to your personal account so it’s separate from your personal quota
    • Survives after you leave the Univeristy
  • Endless lists of folders
    • Something challenging to manage
    • Search tool and pinning as favorite does help
