As we begin Fall Priority Registration, I’m reaching out to share details about Econ 102 and 103. This information is also posted on our website here.
Good news! We were able to add more seats to both Econ 102 and 103 for this fall. This will help students of all levels gain access to both courses.
Fall ’24 Econ 102 and Econ 103: The majority of seats restricted to Freshmen and Sophomores through New Student Registration. Instructors are not able to grant overrides.
Monday, April 1: We will open up several hundred unrestricted seats to both courses
Beginning Monday, April 15th, all sections will be restricted to students with freshmen and sophomore standing through New Student Registration
August: A limited number of emergency overrides will be granted through the Override Request Form. Priority will be given to graduating seniors whose programs require Econ 102 or 103.
Any remaining seats will be opened after the override review process with no restrictions.
Please note and share with students that:
- Instructors are not able to grant overrides
- We are not keeping a waitlist
- We are not currently granting overrides (but we will follow the process above during which we will consider all override requests)
If these classes reach maximum capacity, students who wish to take Econ 102 or 103 have several options:
- Students may take Econ 103 before taking 102
- Students can take the Econ 102 and/or Econ 103 Proficiency Exams to earn course credit
- Students may take Econ 102 or 103 in the Winter or Summer terms
- Neither of these courses is restricted in the Spring semester.
