Reflecting on Adler, LaMott, and Bradbury

My first task was to give it a title, failing to do so before. I called it “Writing is a mess and Reading is a pleasure” because those ideas summed up how I felt about these authors theories, I rejected Adler’s work-like method to knowing a book and substituted re-reading because it can be both pleasure and learning. I said Writing is a mess because it conveyed how I agreed with LaMott on Shitty First Drafts as writing can be very messy and cluttered at the start. When revising I felt I had less chunks to add, but more explanation to insert in between ideas.  Expanding sentences to give more in depth visuals into what I wanted to say and improving overall the clarity of the message. Such as expanding on Bradbury’s method and how it relates to my own by explaining the use of time we share or showing that his use of time is not necessarily rushed. I added the step in my writing where I thought editing should begin to show where I end my messiness and Shitty First Drafts period
