The “Charitable” Trump Portrait

David A. Fahrenthold, reporter for the Washington Post, followed up on a story about the infamous Donald Trump’s portrait. He tracked down Enrique Acevedo to explain how the portrait was bought and misused by Trump’s Foundation money. It was a four-foot tall portrait of Trump himself and it was auctioned off in 2014. The portrait was bought by Trump himself for $10,000. However, Trump has actually paid for the painting with a check from his charity, the Donald J. Trump Foundation. With the money from his foundation, the portrait had to be used for charitable use. Acevedo was able to track down the actual location and found out it was hanging in one of Trump’s golf clubs, the Doral Resort. He went to this resort and to his surprise it was hanging downstairs in the Champions Bar and Grill.

This track down was able to happen due to the story on twitter that was accurate. Acevedo snapped a picture of the portrait and posted it on Twitter himself. The Trump campaign has yet to respond to this picture or any of the questions that have erupted from the painting.
