This newscast opened with a general overview of what they were going to go over in their segment and then later went into further details about each headline story. Throughout the broadcast they focused on stories about the white house focusing on tax reform and a story about Donald Trumps travel ban impacting international students from coming to Universities and Colleges in the states. Another headlining story that was traumatic was about a shooting on the Las Vegas strip where one person was killed. This newscast also had a weather segment and then an inspiring story at the end about a former NFL player who is heading off to Harvard Medical School.
I believe that this newscast had general values that people look for while watching the news such as timeliness, conflict, and impact. The newscast was on top of its reporting when they were talking about the Las Vegas shooting because it had just happened and they had relevant facts for people that were curious. The broadcast also had conflict and impact when talking about how international students were worried about coming to United States for college and how there has been a decline in the percentage of international students. The inspiring story at the end about the former NFL player had an impact on me to follow my dreams whatever they may be.
