Social Media Impacting Health

Hello,

A reading provided in my Rhetoric 105 class named “An Interview with Phillip Gerald” by Frank Tascone was assigned to the class to give my peers and me a better understanding as to what topic to research upon and how to approach it. Mr. Tascone explained that if you choose a topic that you are not well aware about, then it would be a better researching and learning experience. You will also be unbiased about your topic of research.

My topic revolves around the influence social media has on health such as eating disorders and other health factors. Many people across the world set themselves to the standards of the press or on social media. I want to be able to answer the question, “how influential is social media both physically and mentally?” The media affects health such as eating disorders, but I’m not sure what else which is why this is my topic of interest. I believe the media negatively impacts health among all age groups and both female and male.

Hello World!

The photo I chose for my banner was the same message that had me in tears when I found out I was accepted into the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. The campus is really beautiful and has so many activities to participate in. The university has the largest GreekLife organizations thus far. Professor are determined to give you a challenge and make you think critically. Students on campus are very friendly and always make you feel welcomed. UofI is a really amazing school.
