Writier’s Advice

Voice of Experience

Dear Class of 2016,

I won’t write to you about the endless piles of homework you dealt with throughout high school nor the sleepless nights because you’ll experience those all over again in college. College means so much more than homework and sleepless nights. You must become involved in the community and organizations to get a part of the college experience. You need to “fail well” in order to experience college. By that, I mean you need to enjoy being in college in between the good and bad times. A topic of interest that I have is becoming involved in the community on campus and off of campus. College involves GreekLife, sports, clubs, organizations, and many other fun activities that are for free without membership. There is never a moment when you are on campus that you have nothing to do because there always is. You must be able to embrace college life and enjoy it.
