Semester Study Abroad spots still open!

The College of ACES still has space available for the Spring  2014 semester programs in Sierra Leone on  Global Health, Nutrition, Water and Sanitation & International Development and Agribusiness. Deadline is October 1, 2014. This program is open to all majors on campus!
 
·         The International Development and Agribusiness Spring 2014 Semester Program offers coursework focusing on agribusiness management and economic development, service learning experiences, and opportunities for collaboration with students from Njala University. This program includes an internship with a commercial agribusiness, an agribusiness-related NGO, or a farmer cooperative. This semester abroad is suitable for students with interests in Agribusiness Management, African Studies, Agricultural Economics, Economics, Global Studies, or International Business.
 
·         The Global Health: Nutrition, Water and Sanitation Spring 2014 Semester Program offers coursework focusing on nutrition and health, service learning experiences, and opportunities for collaboration with Njala students. Following the completion of courses, students will intern at a health clinic, a nutrition-oriented NGO, or an environmental research lab. This program should be of interest to students studying, Community Health, Nutrition, African Studies, Global Studies, Pre-Med and Pre-Vet.
 
All ACES Sierra Leone courses are taught in English, and all courses have been pre-approved for UIUC credit hours. The application deadline for the Semester Programs is October 1, 2013. Avoid waiting in line at the advising office during peak periods!
If you have been considering a major or minor in Spanish and you would like more information about how and when to declare, the requirements, and how study abroad can be incorporated, you are invited to attend one of these information meetings. Come meet the undergraduate Spanish advisor, Beth Chasco, as she explains the curriculum and answers student questions. In this way you can avoid the long lines at the advising office during peak periods. *Bring the Intent to Declare a Campus Minor form and a print out of your academic history if you believe you will want to declare a minor at the end of the meeting.
