ECE 398 Innovation and Engineering Design

Let your students know about an exciting class –open to ALL majors on campus– “Innovation and Engineering Design”
The class is in its second offering and It will be taught by Profs. Carney, Singer and Lilly (Technology Entrepreneur Center).
 
It is intended to provide students the opportunity to formulate project ideas and begin the engineering design process.  Students will have a chance to meet and partner with mentors from campus and industry as well as interact with students from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.  It is hoped students in this course will go on to launch their projects in ECE 445, but this 398 offering may be great preparation for any project course or effort on the student’s own time. 
       Learn the engineering design process as it applies across disciplines. 
       Spend a semester making your plans for a world-changing project.
       Work in a heterogeneous group.
       Filter out bad ideas and brain storm new ones.
       Make your project idea rock-solid, through a principled approach to project design.
       Meet with campus and industry mentors.
       Get University of Chicago Booth MBA students involved in your project.
