Special Opportunity to work with Mali Water Project – ENG 398 Special Projects

The LINC program needs a small team of driven and passionate students to work with our community partner in Mali. Projects focus on providing access to clean water in the village of Konilo-Coura, including work to

  • Further develop and finalize a business and operations plan for a Biosand Filter Project
  • Finalize and disseminate proposals to attain funding for water distribution systems
  • Maintain communication with village community members to develop and assess projects and collaborate with NGOs such as O’Horizons Foundation

We are in search of team members who have interest or experience in international development and water quality or access technologies and/or who have French translational abilities or business and technical skills related to development projects. There will be a weekly team meeting with LINC staff (time to be arranged with the team). Interested students should email Shikhank Sharma ASAP at sharma24@illinois.edu with a brief explanation of your interest in the project and experiences/skills/strengths you can bring to the MWP team.  ENG 398 is a 2-credit course.
