During this meeting, Pier Alberto Merli, Rome Resident Director, and Sonia Massari, Rome Academic and Programs Director, will be on-hand to share information about the current Spring semester program in Rome and to discuss the new programs being developed for Summer and Fall 2015.

We have invited renowned food studies scholar and international journalist Fabio Parasecoli to speak about the key themes of globalization of food and cultural identity that underline the academic inquiries of the new Summer and Fall study abroad programs at the Illinois Center in Rome.  

The new Summer and Fall Programs in Rome use interdisciplinary approaches to critical food studies, and through the curriculum and excursions throughout Italy, address issues of sustainability, food security, economic trade, national nutritional policies, business, marketing, communication, cultural heritage, and tourism.  The Summer program will also offer optional internships.
