SUMMER STUDY TOUR for JAMES SCHOLARS // 3 CREDIT HOURS
ACES 298: Marketing and Cultural Economy of Food as Heritage *all majors welcome
Location: Shropshire, England
Dates: August 7, 2014-August 17, 2014
Application Deadline: March 17, 2014
Program Summary: This program explores an entire region – the most rural, beautiful, and sparsely populated of England. We will study market towns, farms, breweries, pubs, tea rooms, restaurants and food stores, as well as Ironbridge Gorge (home of the Industrial Revolution which, among other achievements, gave us cast iron cookware that revolutionized the kitchen) and the nearby multicultural metropolis of Birmingham where the Cadbury family established its chocolate empire. Includes pre and post-departure coursework on campus.

Cost: $2700 (includes program fee, airfare, housing, & most meals and entrance to museums and other sites)
