The 7th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium will take place on Thursday, April 17. If you have been working a research project with faculty, or as part of an independent study course, or perhaps a unique course project (not scripted homework, but an independently developed project), then you should consider turning it into a poster or presentation for the URS. The deadline for proposals is Thursday, February 6 has been extended to Thursday, February 20.
Even if you don’t have something completed or near-completed, there’s still time. Perhaps there was a course or topic in a course that really fascinated you. You could spend this semester further studying the topic independently or with a group of fellow students and apply your work to a particular example or data set. Stop by my office to see the poster two of your fellow Stat students (Jay Shin and Joseph Jang) constructed for last year’s URS.
