Presidential visit on Oct 1

University of Illinois to host Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina
His Excellency Mr. Zeljko Komsic, Chairman of the Presidency of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will visit the University of Illinois on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 and deliver a presidential address at noon in room 126 of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, 501 E. Daniel Street, Champaign.
Later in the afternoon, a roundtable discussion, “Bosnians in the U.S.: Communities, Connections, and Homelands”, will take place at 3 pm, also in 126 GSLIS. The roundtable will feature University faculty and alumni. His Excellency Mr. Komsic will provide remarks at the roundtable, as well.
The day’s events will end with a public reception at 5 pm in the International & Area Studies Library, Main Library room 321, 1408 W. Gregory Drive, Urbana, and will celebrate the University Library’s Bosnian collections and relationship with the Midwest Bosnian community through work with Mr. Nihad Mihanovic, Director of  BosTel, a Bosnian TV station based in Chicago. Balkanalia, the University’s Balkan music ensemble, will perform.
Komsic received degrees from the Law School at the University in Sarajevo and School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Komsic is the Croat member of the three-person Presidency of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was first elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2010, and he currently serves as Chairman of the three-person Presidency.
