ATMS/ESE 140-SLC: Climate and Global Change

There are still seats left in ATMS 140 Section SLC! This is a special section of this course taught by Matt Cervarich who is an outstanding teacher. Students will earn Physical Science credit for taking this course and it promises to be full of useful information for all disciplines while still being a very manageable course.

We also have seats available in ATMS 100: Intro to Meteorology taught by Prof. Frame. This course is a Quant II and Physical Science class!
The Earth’s climate is a dynamic system defined as the long term average of our atmospheric conditions . Changes in climate dictate every aspect of life for every species. Climate change drives evolution1, dictates world trade2, is theorized to cause past and current mass extictions3,4, and influences our living world in many many more ways. This course will provide you with a scientific basis for understanding climate changes. We will explore the climatic history of our planet and investigate how the living world responded to past climate changes. We will delve into the intricacies of present day climate change and discuss what it means for humanity and the rest of life on Earth.
