Psychology Prospective Student Meetings

The Psychology Advising Office will be offering informational meetings for prospective students.

Please have your student read over the preparation steps found  at http://www.psychology.illinois.edu/undergraduate/prospective/index.html  and have them sign up for a meeting in Room 10 Psychology Building.  They will receive a packet of helpful information.  (We’ll try and get fancy like biology next semester and have this all on-line).

The ICT/curricular change criteria:

1)      Complete an introductory psychology course (PSYC 100 or equivalent),

2)      Complete a statistics course (PSYC 235 – Intro to Statistics or equivalent [STAT 100, ECON 202, EPSY 280, SOC 280, SOCW 225]),

3)      A UIUC biological/cognitive psychology course (PSYC 204 – Brain & Cognition, PSYC 210 – Behavioral Neuroscience, PSYC 220 – Images of Mind, PSYC 224 – Cognitive, PSYC 230 – Perception and Sensory, or PSYC 248 – Learning & Memory).

And maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA for all psychology and statistics courses taken at UIUC.

If you meet the above criteria, you can formally declare psychology as a major visit the Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) college office in Room 2002 Lincoln Hall during the first two weeks of each semester or the month preceding registration (October & March).
