Editorial Intern, Journal of English and Germanic Philology

The Journal of English and Germanic Philology, edited by Prof. Renee Trilling, is seeking a Fall 2018 intern.  This internship involves 4-5 hours/week of work, starting mid-September.  Successful applicants are required to enroll in English 199: Internship Seminar (an online one-credit, second-8-week course that begins October 22).

Duties may include:

  • Proofreadingjegpcover
  • Copyediting
  • Fact-checking
  • Maintaining databases of reviewers
  • Correspondence of various kinds
  • Record-keeping of various kinds
  • Communicating production schedules
  • Collating information
  • Curating a social media presence
  • Assisting with a website
  • Other duties as required

You will learn how a scholarly or literary journal gets put together and you will get familiar with the variety of moving parts that go into any periodical publication.
