Summer Scholars is a program available to all incoming first-year engineering students who complete high school graduation by June 6, 2019. Get a jump-start on college, meet new friends, and get acclimated to campus all before the fall semester. This program is focused on providing you with a successful transition to Illinois, enhancing your leadership skills, increasing your academic performance for the first-year, and giving you the opportunity to explore your interests and passions. This program allows you to not wait until Fall 2019 to begin your college experience, but start in the summer.
In Summer Scholars you will enroll as a full-time student during Summer Session 2: June 10 through August 2, 2019, taking 6-8 credits (2 courses). You and your fellow scholars will participate in fun activities, workshops and events, and courses.
You will choose a themed cohort. You will be provided resources and opportunities to dive deep into your chosen theme and explore.
