Peer Mentoring

Purpose

The main objectives of the program are to provide first-year students with:

  • A network of support.
  • Consistent, reliable sources of information and advice about academics and social life.
  • Pathways to sustainable relationships with other engineering students, staff, and faculty.

Who is my mentor?

Your peer mentor is your Engineering 100 Engineering Learning Assistants (ELA). These ELAs are trained and eager to assist you in your academic success. If you prefer to have a different mentor, you should contact the IEFX Program Coordinator, who will connect you with another mentor.

What about Spring Semester?

Because the mentoring program is in conjunction with Engineering 100, the official program is only for the Fall semester. However, you are welcome to stay connected to your ELA on an informal basis. CARE, the Center for Academic Resources in Engineering, also coordinates peer mentors for students.
