Another nine computers installed at UNCC

In week 10 of Hailley’s time at UNCC, Jeff delivered another nine computers to be installed. He brought them to the center on Friday and was welcomed by a handful of elementary students, eager to install some computers. As the adults brought in the equipment, we had the elementary students place a USB keyboard, mouse, and the correct connector cables on each workspace. Then, we had the students pair up and work to plug in all the cords and check to see if the computer turned on.

During this installation, we got some spur of the moment teaching opportunities. Some of the students were unsure of what was a USB plug and what was a DIN plug. This gave Hailley the opportunity to show off the two plugs and then have the students locate them on the back of various towers. Also, the ethernet lesson (and where to go to check for the internet) was learned again but this time, it was a combination of Hailley teaching some students and then some students teaching other students.

The lab at UNCC is looking great and almost up to full capacity!
