I-Advance Program for Students

Many of the resources, student programs and academic units that we have on campus would not be here today without the generous gifts made by University of Illinois alumni.

It’s critically important that donors are satisfied and assured that their gifts to Student Affairs are making a difference. And there’s no better way to do this than by connecting our donors with U of I students who have had a chance to benefit directly from the donors’ generosity.

What is I-Advance?

The students involved in this program make phone calls to Student Affairs donors to thank them for their gifts to the University, and explain ways in which they have benefited – or could benefit – from their gifts. I-Advance students will attend certain donor/alumni events, such as Foundation Weekend, Student Affairs Reunion (Homecoming), and other occasions that are connected to various units within Student Affairs, giving them an opportunity to socialize with donors. Other duties of these students may include helping out with the annual report, taking part in thank-a-thons to aid in stewardship efforts, and assisting with registration at the Student Leadership Awards banquet and other donor events.

How you can benefit from being part of I-Advance

Student Affairs Advancement wants to give students the opportunity to be a part of an elite organization where they can gain more knowledge of Student Affairs, Advancement and fundraising principles, enhance donor and alumni relations, and be inspired to become active alumni. Being a part of I-Advance will allow you to network with many active alumni and gain leadership experience. Plus, it will look great on your resume!
