Scientists of the Prairie Research Institute will present 35 five-minute ‘lightning’ talks and 23 posters that showcase the diverse work of the state scientific surveys on Friday (Nov. 30). Drop by for an hour or stay for the day. Find new research partners and student job opportunities. Talks 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., posters 4 to 5 p.m. and reception 4 to 6 p.m. at the I Hotel and Conference Center.

One of the most notable activities in our department for graduate students is the Bohrer Workshop. A subset of the graduate students are selected to give a quality presentation of their current research in statistics. This is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students to get a peek at what might lie ahead if you too choose to pursue an advanced degree. You don’t have to be there the whole day. Just pick one or maybe two that sound interesting. Schedule below.
TRANSLATION STUDY ABROAD IN THE EUROPEAN UNION INFO SESSION TODAY. The Center for Translation Studies will host an info session for the Summer 1 2013 Translation Study Abroad program TODAY, Thursday, November 8th at 12:30pm in Lucy Ellis Lounge ( 1080 Foreign Languages Building). Please join us for lunch and an opportunity to meet the CTS director and faculty, learn more about the Translation Study Abroad program and have your questions answered.
