We are excited to announce Professor Benjamin Garcia of the University of Pennsylvania as the 2020 SACNAS Invited Speaker! Join us December 3rd and 4th @ 12pm CT as Prof. Garcia gives two seminars on the current research in his lab and his career through academia. Zoom details are below the poster.
To kick off the semester we held a virtual Meet and Greet via Zoom to connect with our members both new and old! It was great getting to chat with everyone and we look forward to seeing you all during our future events this semester!
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the national SACNAS organization has decided to extend the deadline for research abstracts and travel awards to July 10, 2020 for students at all levels! If you missed the initial deadline there is still a chance to apply! However, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis so it’s encouraged you still apply early.
We held our annual outreach event at the Champaign Public Library on February 22, 2020. This year we had demos related to 3D printing, in collaboration with the Illinois Geometry Lab. We had stations for learning about polymers and modeling, as well as a station with an actual 3D printer itself. Thank you to everyone who volunteered!
We held our first meeting of the Spring 2020 semester on February 5, 2020, where we shared our upcoming events for the month and held a short professional development session on using LinkedIn and Handshake. Thank you to everyone who showed up!
