Requirements:
- Minimum GPA of 2.00
- It is recommended students transfer no later than sophomore year because students generally need to complete three more years of coursework after transfer.

Application Periods:
Students should apply as early in their college career as possible so that they can being the required Theatre curriculum. The fist step is completing the required Portfolio Review/Audition/Interview: https://theatre.illinois.edu/?page_id=4736.
Students are admitted to the Theatre Studies; Art and Entertainment Technology, Stage Management; Scenic Technology; Lighting Design and Technology; Sound Design and Technology; Costume Design and Technology; and Scenic Design BFA Areas may begin in either the Fall or Spring Semester.
Students who are admitted to the Acting BFA Area are evaluated on an individual basis in terms of a start date. It is generally best to start in the Fall Semester, but considerations for the Spring Semester (while rare) are possible.
