Research description: Study of the effects of toxicants on the female reproductive system with emphasis on developmental biology, uterine alterations and cancer.

Biography: Yuliana was born in Colombia. She always showed interest and deep respect for nature. She is interested in the morphological changes of plants and animals. She has extensive training in embryology and researches the physiological development of various species and seeks to characterize the effects of different chemical substances on germ cells and early fetal-maternal union.

As a member of the Nowak lab, she is working on finding mechanisms of toxicity focusing on inflammation, stress and aging with the goal of characterizing clinically important biomarkers.
