Biography
I’m majoring in Animal Sciences with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. I plan on attending vet school next fall, and I am currently very interested in pursuing clinical pathology afterwards. I love both the research and diagnostic sides of veterinary pathology, and so I would love to combine those two passions during my career. I joined the lab during my freshman year as a part of the IGNITE Research Program, and I have enjoyed learning more about the field of reproductive research ever since. In the past, I helped with the immunohistochemistry of several projects, and this year I have taken up the role of caring for our mouse colonies.
Aside from working in the lab, I serve as the Secretary for the Pre-Vet Club, tutor organic chemistry students, and am involved in Illini Service Dogs. During my free time, I enjoy playing video games, especially the Pokémon series. I also have a collection of carnivorous plants, including Venus flytraps and pitcher plants, that I’ve been taking care of for several years.
