Austin is a PhD student in the lab.  He received his Master’s in Zoology in 2022, studying the neural circuits underlying decision making in songbirds. His primary areas of interest are in evolution and behavior.  Therefore, domestication provides an ideal model to elucidate the underlying genetic influences for behavior, and how specific animal behaviors can be selected for.
