Hello! We’re the iSchool Writing Consultants for the Spring 2020 semester, and we’re really excited to be helping you to learn more about graduate-level writing and improve your writing skills.
Dr. Iftikhar Haider, Ph.D., is a writing consultant this semester. Iftikhar holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before starting his Ph.D., he graduated from UIUC with an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language. His areas of interest are ESL writing, language assessment, second language pragmatics, and computer-mediated communication. Iftikhar has also worked as Instructor TESOL at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Iftikhar has an extensive ESL writing experience. Outside of academic pursuits, he enjoys watching comedy movies, spends time with family, and plays cricket.
Hollis Wittman is a first-year MSLIS student with an interest in music librarianship and archiving. She is the Cataloging Graduate Assistant for the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning and is thrilled to be joining the Writing Resources team. Prior to beginning at UIUC, she earned her Bachelor of Music with Elective Studies in Psychology from Wheaton College (the one in Illinois) and her MA in musicology, with an emphasis on music history, from Western Michigan University. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and casual cycling, petting dogs, fiber arts projects, and trying to make a dent in her mountain of unread books.
