The Shotgun Warmup will take place from 2 – 3:30 PM. We will use our shotguns and ammo for this one. Just bring yourself.
TICKET INFORMATION
Adult tickets for Hunt Camp are $15 if bought before Hunt Camp, or $20 at the door. Be sure to get the Shooting Registration Ticket if you want to do the Shotgun Warmup by Sept. 1st.
Tickets include entry, games, food (while it lasts), & prize tickets that can be used for outdoor gear or mentored hunts.*
*Must be present at time of drawings to win
Please Note: Hunt Camp is an event for adults. Children under 18 can come with you for free, but they will not get a registration packet, prize tickets, or be eligible to win prizes.
Event Details
2 PM – Registration Opens
2 PM – 3:30 PM Shotgun Warmup – New this year! Try out some shot gunning and bust some moving clay birds to get ready for the season. We will have everything required, just bring yourself. Adults only and must get the Shotgun Adult Registration Ticket by Sept. 1st to participate.
2 – 6 PM Outdoor Skills Tables and Illinois Outdoor Groups Tables – Walk around and explore some tables set up by the most active outdoors groups in Illinois and learn about ways you can get involved. There will also be Outdoor Skills tables set up to work on stuff like map reading and E scouting, mammal trapping and wildlife calling to name a few. New this year is Illinois Fishing with the IDNR Urban Fishing Program. There is even a special game open only to those who join the Outdoor Groups at Hunt Camp called the “Final Showdown”.
4 PM Early Bird Giveaway and Taste of the Wild – Step up as 5 winners are drawn from the earliest ticket buyers to compete in a mini-game. Top winners will be selecting their CHOICE of anything from the Mentored Hunt Table or from the Outdoor Gear Table! While this is happening try some appetizer dishes while supplies last made using wild game by the Illinois Learn to Hunt team.
Starting at 4:30 PM – Mentored Hunt Giveaways Start – New this year, we will be spreading out the Mentored Hunt Giveaways over the evening. We will award the first batch at 4:30 and then draw and announce a new batch of Mentored Hunt Winners every half hour. Mentored Hunt Winners at 4:30, 5, 5:30 and 6 PM. Hunt must be claimed within 30 minutes or we draw another winner. Must be present to win.
5:30 PM Iron Chef – Wild Game Edition – The Hunt Camp Ambassadors will be cooking up their favorite dishes using wild game or wild foraged foods. While supplies last step up and sample the dishes and vote for your favorite. This is a great opportunity to try several different wild game dishes at once.
6 PM Giveaway Time – We will award all of the Outdoor Gear prizes and any remaining hunts to Hunt Camp Participants. Must be present to win.
6:30 PM The Final Showdown – The last and most fun giveaway at Hunt Camp. Those who joined or supported the outdoor groups at Hunt Camp will receive a Hunt Camp Token and have a chance to compete in a gauntlet of challenges in order to win an awesome prize! More Hunt Camp Tokens increases your odds of winning. This year we will have more winners for the Final Showdown than ever before. So come ready to join the outdoor groups that suit you for the best chance at winning some gear.
7 PM Closing Time and Wrap Up
