Biography

Dr. Rob Tempelman is a Professor in the Department of Animal Science at Michigan State University (MSU).  His primary research interest areas are in quantitative genetics with a focus on genetic improvement of livestock (primarily cattle) and in experimental designs in animal and genomics research.  His current research foci are in the development of hierarchical Bayesian methods for whole genome prediction and genome wide association analyses and the genomics of feed efficiency in dairy cattle.  He is also co-director for the Statistical Consulting Center for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at MSU and teaches graduate level service courses in statistical methods and experimental design for the agricultural and biological sciences.
