What is Disc Golf?

Ever been to a park and seen metal baskets with chains hanging in them? You probably stumbled onto one of the 6,652 disc golf courses located all across the United States. Disc golf can be summed up as throwing plastic discs from a tee pad into a target basket in as few strokes as possible. There are hundreds of disc mold options that each have unique flight characteristics and additionally there are many different ways of throwing a disc (forehand, backhand, tomahawk, thumber, roller).

What should you expect from Illini Disc Golf Club?

– Free-to-play weekly leagues with prizes for winners
– Regional and National competitions through College Disc Golf
– Lessons and clinics from professional players

How do I join?

– Option 1: Find our booth at Quad Day to meet the board and join the email list.

Where do we play?

Both Dodds Park and Lohmann Park have disc golf courses within 15 minutes of campus. The Green bus can take you to Lohmann and rides are organized through the GroupMe to Dodds. Additional trips to further courses will be organized throughout the year.
