The Deputy Chief Actuary with the US Department of Defense (DoD) in Alexandria, VA (just outside of Washington, DC) is reaching out regarding an open actuarial position. You might recall that the DoD reached out in the past regarding an entry level job opportunity in their office, the DoD Office of the Actuary (OACT). They wanted to reach out to you again as another entry level job opportunity is available in their office.
Opening earlier this week (May 18th), the Department of Defense is looking to fill an entry level actuary position. This position is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate (or soon to be graduate) that studied in an Actuarial Science program, or in a analogous program with an interest/aptitude for an actuarial career. The announcement for the position closes on Thursday, June 2nd.
As a general description, the DoD Office of the Actuary provides actuarial expertise on all matters relating to military compensation and benefits which includes cost estimates and data analysis for legislative proposals and providing summary statistics on the beneficiary population.
