Prof. Randall Martin

Raymond R. Tucker Distinguished Professor, Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis.

ABSTRACT

Biography: Professor Martin joined the Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis in 2019, from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where he had been on the faculty since 2003. He was named Professor in 2011 and Arthur B. McDonald Chair of Research Excellence in 2016. Over 2003-2019, he was a research associate at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He serves on a variety of task forces, advisory boards and working groups as an expert on air quality. His professional honors include an Atmospheric Sciences Ascent Award by the American Geophysical Union, being annually named a Highly Cited Researcher by the Web of Science since 2019, and being recognized by Research.com as one of the top 25 environmental scientists worldwide.

Dr. Brian Shoener

ABSTRACT

Biography: Dr. Brian Shoener is in the Process Engineering group at Black & Veatch. He is a Microsoft Certified Data Analyst and specializes in high-throughput data analysis and visualization with a focus on predictive analytics through machine learning. Dr. Shoener is enthusiastic about leveraging computer programming to automate and standardize calculations to improve efficiency. Dr. Shoener also assists with creation, calibration, and validation of wastewater treatment process models.
