Strategic Vision

After watching an interview with Dr. Johnson regarding elearning at an institute regarding strategic vision at an institute or within a department, I realized the importance of a vision along with a strong plan of innovative thinking. Dr. Johnson mentioned that instead of approaching elearning with the same concept of teaching students by just giving the information, the faculty must be more interactive. From an institutions standpoint, he mentioned there being a solid vision with a process of implementation. A thorough budget of fiscal payments for specific programs must be accounted for when implementing an elearning program, data collection for effective program selection. There is always a business aspect to every technological advancement in these types of programs. I agree that a vision is more important than planning because without a vision there is nothing to plan. Things in life have chronilogical orders of achievement and with a vision, one can plan accordingly. I absolutely agree with Bates in chapter two of our text book.
