I am a professor of evolutionary ecology in the Department of Animal Biology, and hold affiliate appointments in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences and the Illinois Natural History Survey and I am a founding member of the Program in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
My research interests are broad, spanning the range from the molecular to the interactions of organisms, with a strong evolutionary perspective. A major emphasis is molecular genetic mechanisms that mediate ecological interactions, with particular interest in plant-herbivore interactions.
