Congratulations to Technology Services for winning the 2019 Amazing Illinois Race! This was a significant win because it’s the first time in the history of the Amazing Illinois Race that someone other than the College of Fine and Applied Arts has won. The traveling trophy is being engraved with this year’s winner and will soon be making its way to its new home in Tech Services.
Overall, we had 309 participants from six Colleges and went 76,000 miles. That’s three times around the Earth!!! We had some fun challenges along the way–including a few new ones–which were a great way to earn bonus steps and meet like-minded individuals across the campus.
Thanks to everyone who participated this year and congratulations on your team and individual successes as well. The primary goal of this event is to encourage wellness and healthy living and having an active lifestyle is a key component of it. We encourage you to keep going with the activities you’ve been doing for the past couple months. Fall is just around the corner and we’ve got some great autumn weather to look forward to so get out there and get your walk or run on!
