SOAR After-School Tutoring Program

The SOAR after-school tutoring program at Garden Hills Elementary School in Champaign is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to provide homework and reading help to bilingual students in grades 2-5 who are most in need of extra support. SOAR operates from 3:00-4:15 p.m. every Tuesday through Thursday at Garden Hills Elementary School (2001 Garden Hills Rd., Champaign). Volunteers are asked to commit one day a week for the duration of the semester to work individually with a child and should be available from 2:45-4:15 on the day(s) they tutor. Spanish-speaking skills are only necessary if working with a 2nd grader.
