The Youth Literature Festival celebrates the value of literature in the lives of youth by bringing together local and national authors, illustrators, and storytellers to share their stories, their craft, and their enthusiasm with children and teens. The festival includes a Community Day Celebration on Saturday, October 6, at the iHotel and is free to the public. Community Day activities encourage all ages to share in value of literature with hands-on activities, performances, and author presentations.

Volunteers are needed to help throughout the day on Community Day. Most of the shifts will be two hours long (9:30-11:30, 11:30-1:30, and 1:30-3:30). Volunteers will serve as hall and doorway greeters, hand out programs, man information booths, assist authors, etc.  Theremight even  be an opportunity to dress as a character such the Cat in the Hat or Clifford, the Big Red Dog! J  If interested in serving as a volunteer on Community Day, please contact Lila Moore at lfmoore@illinois.edu.
