On March 10, 2015, the Digital Literacy for All Learners project team participated in the seventh annual Public Engagement Symposium. The theme of the symposium was “Changing lives through engagement.”
We were more broadly represented by Ctrl-Shift, a local group made up of school teachers, community members, entrepreneurs, and University of Illinois representatives who are interested in computer science in K-12 schools and their curriculum. The Digital Literacy for All Learners had representatives from all five of our sites. We showcased our work through pictures, slideshows, past projects, projects in process, and current equipment. It was great to have everyone together in one space and also explore the various ways university groups are working with the broader Urbana-Champaign community.
This symposium also allowed us to focus on our fundamentals and to better articulate the kind of work we are doing on this grant and why this work is significant. Be sure to see our newly renovated Fundamentals page for more information and to see our revisions. We look forward to feedback or initial thoughts!
