  1. Only do what is important. Think about why you do what you do and how it fits into the bigger picture of science.
  2. First get to the end of the project however you can and THEN come back and smooth things out.

When lost, use physical intuition. For understanding, depend on approximations not powerful computers. When you think X cannot be done, ask: why not?
