Purnima Ghale is a student in Professor Harley Johnson’s group working on first-principles computations modeling Tungsten metal surfaces under extreme conditions. She previously worked on the calculations of the properties of graphene and quantum dots in semiconductors. At the moment, she is finishing her M.S. in Mechanical Science and Engineering and looking forward to her PhD work. Purnima is from Kathmandu, Nepal . Her undergraduate degree is a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. As an undergraduate, she did research on electrical noise in Micro-Electro Mechanical Systems and electron transport in semiconductors.
